Students are familiar with the fundamental statistical methods of descriptive statistics, statistical
inference, and probability theory and know their economic applications. They are able to apply the
statistical methods, also with suitable software, in order to address corresponding business tasks or
problems.

Overarching skills:
Core skills:
Students are able to analyze business tasks and set them up in such a way that they can apply their
knowledge of statistical methods in order to find solutions. During this process, students use suitable
tools, and software, which support statistical analysis.

Interpersonal and communication skills:
Students are able to present, talk about, and explain analyses of business problems and the solutions
gained through the use of statistical methods to colleagues and superiors. When working in teams, they
can apply acquired methodological knowledge and information gained from applying particular methods
to solving problems.

Systemic skills:
Students recognize the advantages of a systematic, goal-oriented approach to problems related to data
collection and analysis, and they can translate and apply this approach to systemic tasks that are
relevant within and beyond businesses.
